Skins vs. Cowboys prediction

Good NFC East matchup on MNF. Cowboys are suffering injuries to Homo, Austin, and Jones. Looks like Homo and Jones will play but Austin will be out allowing that reality star, Holley, and opportunity to play.

Skins may be getting Landry back which would be big. He is still limited in practice and I'm sure the coaches want to take their time with him as they don't want him to suffer any setbacks.

The Skins will certainly be bringing pressure to try and get a few hits on Homo. Frankly, Kitna is a good backup and I wouldn't mind seeing Romo in their for the duration. I think we will get to the QB a few times and force a couple of turnovers.

Offensively, it's a HUGE game for Rexy. He seems to save his worst games for national tv. People around the league are talking about his solid play, this is an opportunity for him to prove to his critics he is a legitimate starter in this league. I have grown to enjoy watching Rexy play and I love his confidence. I think he will do well and move the ball down the field spreading it out to all receivers. I expect Davis to get more balls as he creates big mismatches and seems to have supplanted Cooley as the #1 TE. I also expect strong running from the Hightower/Helu combo.

A big key will be red zone offense for the Skins. I think the Skins are really excited about this matchup. It's interesting because Rexy kind of epitomizes the Skins. Just as he wants to show what he can do, the Skins will want to show what they can do. 27-17 Skins.

On the road the Deadskins will struggle against a banged up Cowboy team. I have to believe that even if Romo does not play, the fact that he played with broken ribs will charge up that team.

Their D has played well under Rob Ryan's leadership. I expect Rex to have a tough game with sacks, fumbles, and an interception. That cannot happen if you expect to win on the road.

I like your score, but I would flip the teams: Cowboys 27 - Deadskins 17.

One other thing that you can pretty much bet on - Romo or Kitna will throw a double move bomb against Arsenio Hall that will make him look foolish.

I expect Hall to get picked on early. If Bryant plays, Hall may even give up a TD. Overall though, I expect him to settle in and be the effective All-Pro that he is.

I believe the Skins front 7 is pretty good and we should be able to get to Romo/Kitna. Either one will get hit. Romo, however, is a shifty guy who can create something out of nothing. I am confident though that our D will be ready and will create pressure when needed and will bend a little without breaking.

On offense, Rexy is going to have to play one of his best games, which means keep the turnovers to a minimum. If he can get out of there with no more than one INT/fumble, we'll do well. The running game will be effective as Helu takes on a more prominent role. I think we can exploit the weaknesses in the Dallas secondary with shear numbers. Davis/Moss/Cooley/Gaffney/Armstrong/etc. will be too much for the Cowgirls.

Skins win 27-21. HAIL SKINS!

I think the Cowboys will come out pumped up despite Romo's injuries. I think its kind of foolish to publicly say that they are going to be targeting Romo's Ribs. Do it under the radar. The Redskins are in no position to become a bully at this point. The last thing they need is to provoke the Cowboys to come out and defend their hurt leader ferociously on national TV.

Despite all of that, I think the Redskins will fall this week. Cowboys defense will ground the Redskins offense. Specifically Ware will terrorize Grossman all night. I predict two ints and two fumbles from Grossdude. Romo will throw for 300+ yards.

Cowboys 31-13

Ware is a concern as he is for any team. We have to limit his effectiveness. Williams is going to really need to step up.

I agree that the Azzboyz may pick on Arsenio Hall (now there is a name I can enjoy -- much better than Glenn Beck). However, we'll get after Romo as well and he is prone to making the ill advised throw/play.

I feel like there is more for us to prove and we are looking forward to the challenge.

Rexy is key and I'm going to enjoy watching what he does out there. Again, he saves his worst performances for these national tv games. We'll see if Rexy can keep up his good play.

FYI, the term "All-Pro" is different from "Pro Bowler". All-Pro players are the top players in the NFL at their positions.

Arsenio was a Pro Bowl player, but he is not an "All-Pro". Not trying to be difficult, just making sure people know the difference.

You are correct about the difference. I'm sure it was an honest mistake that you were happy to correct.

D. Hall is a solid CB and I'm sure you would love to have him on the Pears.

My mistake on the All-Pro statement. He's not an All-Pro. That's pretty much reserved for Revis and Asomugha. Still, Hall is just a notch below those guys because of his knack for getting burnt on occasion.

I think JSR's prediction is a bit off. It's his opinion, but Skins vs. Cowgirls is typically a close game that can go either way. With all the injuries that the 'Girls have, I think the Skins get the edge. This is a good test for the Skins. If they fail, it will say a lot about what this team is capable of doing this season.

Excellent point Professior Rob.

I'm worried that Laundry will also bite on a double move and get torched. Also, I don't want him to get too amped up and get flagged for personal fouls.

The key to the game is if Rexy can complete quick passes and achieve yards after catch, because I don't think they will be able to run the ball consistently against their front 7.

JSR a "bit" off? He's way off.

Agree with Scott's comment on Landry. I can imagine him coming out there super excited and with it being the Cowboys on MNF, him just being way too aggressive. We'll see.

I also agree that we will have a tougher time running the ball on their front 7 so all the more reason why Rexy will have to be sharp. We do a lot of those mid range crossing patterns and Rexy will need time to complete those. It's going to be interesting to see how he does.

I'm not concerned about our run production. I think Hightower and Helu will present more speed and power than the Girls will be able to handle. We'll break off at least a couple 20 yard runs and we'll see a stretch in the 2nd or 3rd quarter where we get consistent 5-10 yard carries.

So Arsenio and Laundry are both going to bite on double moves? It's possible. If so, it puts more of the burden on Rexy to stay within his game and play mistake free ball. That will be the key tonight. I'm also interested in how much pressure our front 7 can create.

I still don't have a lot of confidence in the Skins, but I'm going into tonight factoring in everything and sticking with my 27-21 prediction. We get out of Big D in sole possession of 1st place in the NFC East. HAIL SKINS!

Azzboys have been good so far in stopping the run. They are aggressive in Ryan's defense so I expect Rexy to be under pressure. It is critical for him to not make the ill advised throws or fumble.

It's a good test and I'm looking forward to it.

HAIL SKINS!!!
