Oh Moose!

So former Bear WR, Muhsin Muhammad, took a cheap shot at his former team by telling SI's Peter King that Chicago is a wide-receiver's graveyard. Not really sure what prompted that statement but I'm sure it doesn't make Orton or Rexy feel real great.

I suppose the Bears will get a chance to get at Moose in Week 2 when they face the Panthers. Hopefully the Bears have solidified their QB situation and that QB has a good game to stick it to Moose.

I personally don't think Chicago has a very good QB situation and don't think too much of Orton or Grossman but I don't like the cheap shot by Moose.

Big deal. Berrian seemed fine. If Moose comes back this year and has 1000 yards receiving, his words may have more credibility.

The Bears receivers had their drops, their rushing attack was anemic, and their offensive line was terrible. The QB play was not special, but given the other factors I find it hard to argue that it wasn't an overall team issue - not just a conspiracy against receivers.

Two years ago that team seemed like a very cohesive unit and seemed very solid.

I told you at that time that success breeds egos and that the Bears would have to spend to keep many of their players. That was true. It also seems to have brought a level of arrogance in that the Bears thought they were entitled to winning. They didn't play with the same passion last year. They didn't play with the same intensity or the same commitment. They were lazy and they didn't seem nearly as cohesive.

It's too bad Moose made his comments but the team now seems like a shell of what they were a couple of years ago.

Moose isn't on the team.

Injuries devastated the team last year - particularly on defense. They still finished 7-9. If they aren't better this year, then I might agree with you, but you seem to be drawing a premature conclusion about arrogance and passion. We'll see.

After the disappointment of last year, hopefully they come back with a renewed sense of pride. However, I just think that their offense has WAY too many question marks and issues and their defense is only getting older and they won't be nearly as good as they were two years ago (I do think they will be better than last year). Still, I think they will be fighting to stay out of the cellar of their division.
