Favre is a jerk!

So Brett Favre will be back in camp this week. I am curious what the feelings are among the players and coaches in GB. Despite saying that the QB job was Rodgers all along, the team is now saying they will have an open QB competition. I am curious if they are sincere in that or if that is just P.R. bullshat. Even if they don't intend to give it to Favre, it puts Rodgers in a very tough predicament. If he ends up the starter but doesn't produce and they have Favre sitting on the bench, you can bet the fans, media, team mates will want Favre inserted quickly.

It's going to be a circus over there this week and it will be interesting to see how this plays out. I really lost a lot of respect for Brett Favre in how he handled this whole thing. I'm also curious if McCarthy and Thompson will "black ball" Favre and make training camp miserable for him. I wonder what the relationship will be b/t Rodgers and Favre and if the locker room will be divided. I'm just glad I'm not a Packer fan and have to deal with all of that.

I think they will try to work out a trade with Minnesota. I agree that he is a jerk for the way he has conducted himself.

Favre isn't a jerk. He's an overgrown baby that made the mistake of giving his favorite toy away to a much bigger sibling and now he wants it back. He'll cry and pout and bitch and moan until he gets what he wants. As silly as his actions have been, I don't believe the Packer organization has handled things in a fair manner either. Favre had another year left on his contract prior to retiring. If he wants back in, who are they to tell him to stay away?

I say give the big baby back his toys. He gives them the best chance to win. They were a game away from the Super Bowl last year. They won't get that close with Rogers...not by a mile.

No. He is a jerk. He has held his team hostage for years by not telling them whether he is going to retire or not. He finally decides to retire and even when he first starts having doubts after making his announcement, the Pack seem ready to welcome him back but he tells them he is not ready to make a firm commitment.

The Pack had no choice but to move on and they drafted two QBs in the draft and prepared Aaron Rodgers to be the starter. They changed the offense to better suit Rodgers. Rodgers, the rest of the team, the organization all were planning life without Favre and starting the Rodgers era. Then, all of a sudden, Brett wants back in. He toyed with Rodgers, the team, the coaches, and the organization. He is a jerk for doing that.

As far as the Pack treating him fairly, he is welcome back. However, are they supposed to just drop everything they did in the offseason and not just physically accept Brett back and implant him as the starter but also emotionally and mentally accept him back? I would be dealing with it the same way. Just because you are Brett Favre doesn't allow you to push all the buttons and change the rules whenever you feel like it. That's what Brett thinks that he can do whatever he wants and everyone else should just acquiesce to his needs.

As far as them being a better team with Brett, who knows? Rodgers has very limited experience but has had 3 years to learn on the bench. He was decent when he saw playing time last year. Sure, Favre had a great year last year but the two years prior to that he was pretty bad. He had QB ratings around 70 and didn't throw more TDs to INTs. Those are Rexy type numbers. Favre is going to turn 39 in the early part of the season. Sure he is one of the all time greats to play the game but it's not like you are certain to get a great QB by putting him in. What I love is how Favre takes jabs at Rodgers by saying that if it was an open QB competition I think we all know who would win. That guy is a jerk and I am comfortable with the way the Pack has treated him.
