No sports and I'm sad

Now that the Wizards have been eliminated, there are no sports for me.  I am not a big baseball fan (at least not until September and if the Cubs and/or Nats are still in the hunt).

This is the dry season of sports for me.  There is the occasional Redskins news about OTAs and training camp but it's dry until August when preseason starts.

The only thing of interest in the immediate future is who will be the Caps head coach and GM and who the Wizards resign.

It's always a long summer.  I'm sad.

World Cup 2014!!!! You and Justin have to watch! Its a great showcase of talent and team play. Some of the greatest soccer will be played at this tournament. The US team is in the group of death but they have an interesting story line against each of their 3 group stage opponents. Starting with Ghana on June 16th at 6pm. Ghana knocked the US out in the last 2 world cups so we will be looking for revenge. Portugal - Cristiano Ronaldo widely regarded as the best player in the world might be injured and will at the very least not be 100%. The rest of the Portuguese side is not much to speak of. Germany - Jurgen Klinsmann (US soccer coach) used the be the German coach and won a world cup as a German striker. He will definitely have something to prove against his old team and players, many of them whom he recruited for the German national team.

The craziness begins June 12th. Many of the games are watchable because Brazil is only an hour behind us. It ends July 13. We will almost be at preseason football by then.

True. Actually, I do enjoy the world cup. I am going to have to find my vuvuzela!
