Manning to the Skins?

The Post is reporting that the Skins are going to make a hard push to get Manning here. They are saying that given our cap situation that we will sell him that we will bring in playmakers at WR and help at the O line.

The interesting thing about it is if we would try and bring in Manning and RG3. My preference is to get RG3. If we go the Manning route, it is interesting because would we try and keep the picks and then get Manning, help at WR and line in FA, and then build up depth and other critical positions like the secondary through the draft.

The word is that Manning would prefer to stay in the AFC and he makes his home in south FL so Miami seems to have some advantage. ESPN says that Manning will make his decision in the next week. It's going to be interesting.

Looks like that's that.

Makes sense. I'm sure Peyton would prefer to play in the AFC. I also don't think Peyton would enjoy playing against his brother twice a year.

Miami seems to make the most sense. He lives there. It's the AFC. They hired an offensive/passing minded coach. He has some weapons he can use. I expect them to be the odds on favorite for his services.

Houston might make some sense as they have a playoff caliber team. However, Manning would have to play against the Colts twice a year and, similar to having to play Eli, I don't think he would enjoy playing the Colts or the media circus that would result from those games.

It is going to be Miami, Arizona, or the Jets in that order.

I cannot imagine him ending up in DC.

If they do get him, there is no way that they get RGIII. They might move up to take Justin Blackmon, or use the pick for offensive linemen, but it is unlikely that Manning would allow RGIII to get taken.
