Could University of Kentucky beat the Wizards?

Former Maryland coach Gary Williams told a Washington radio station he thought the Wildcats could beat the NBA's Washington Wizards in one game at Rupp Arena.

The Wildcats, the favorites to win the NCAA championship, have multiple players who are expected to be NBA lottery picks. Forward Anthony Davis could be the No. 1 overall pick if he enters the draft.

I like Gary but no way a college team could beat a professional team (even if it is the Wizards). No doubt Kentucky is talented and sure anything is possible. Upsets happen all the time but it is way more likely the Wizards would be able to handle any college team.

It would be interesting to watch though.

I agree. As bad as the Wizards are, they would manhandle Kentucky. Those kids aren't used to NBA rules and the extremely physical nature of professional basketball. Even star players struggle to adjust against the better talent in the NBA.

I can only hope Williams was saying this in jest because if he is serious, he really doesn't understand the difference between college and pro bball.
