I still have issues with JZ and am not sure how good a head coach he really is. However, he didn't deserve to be treated the way he has been treated. He deserves some of the blame for his predicament because before accepting the position, he should have checked with former Redskin head coaches to get their take. He was going to be kicked out of Seattle so the Redskin head coaching gig was like winning the lottery for him. Also, he should have had an agent to negotiate his contract because no way would an agent accept a clause saying that you have to do whatever the owner tells you to do.
What's really interesting is the fans reaction to what has taken place to Zorn over the last few days. Many people wanted to see him fired and thought he was doing a poor job but seeing how he has been treated, I think many fans actually like JZ and want him to somehow stick it to Snyderatto. I think some fans are probably looking for the Skins to get obliterated on Monday and the playcalling to be in shambles and because of all the relaying b/t the Shermans and JC for their to be clock management issues. I think they want some vindication for JZ and for Snyderatto to be heavily embarrassed on national tv.
I don't want the players to be embarrassed but I think the issues mentioned above would be a reflection of Snyderatto's recent decisions. It would be great to see the above and then panning back and forth b/t a smiling JZ on the sideline and a yelling and screaming Snyder and Cerrato. I can just imagine Snyder and Cerrato in each other's faces yelling at the top of their lungs leading to Snyder bitch slapping Cerrato leading to a punch from Cerrato. Snyder lets out a whimper as he is hit and falls to the corner of the owner's box. He begins to cry. Cerrato's bug eyes and snarled teeth retreat into a sympathetic/empathetic/compassionate gaze. He gently makes his way over to now very vulnerable Danny boy. Cerrato bends down and cradles Danny boy lovingly holding Danny boy's head against his secure bosom caressing his deep brown locks. "Danny boy, I'm...I'm sorry," Cerrato says softly as his voice cracks. Danny boy looks up at Cerrato with big brown eyes full of tears and says, "I just want to win." Seeing the helpless and boy like Danny boy, Vinny begins to bawl and blubbers, "I KNOW! ME TOO!!!" as he further wets Danny boy's face in a shower of spittle and tears. The two embrace each other tightly, gaze into each others eyes, and proceed to engage in a full throttle, sloppy til the cops come make out session.
Alright I devolved into something cheap and petty but seriously it will be interesting what happens Monday night and the stories from the media leading up to the game, during the game, and after the game.

Your joking story is probably exactly what Deadskin players are talking about right now. Imagine if you are a player on this train wreck of an organization. The only thing you can do is laugh.
Danny Boy must know the players don't respect him - he is most surely avoiding looking at them right now, but when he does pop his head out he probably gives them the stank eye.
The players don't care. They all have long term contracts with tons of guaranteed money. They're laughing all the way to the bank. This is a problem in of itself. I believe there is adequate talent on the team to be a decent team. The problem is, these guys have no incentive to perform because they have so much guaranteed money. Guys like Portis are good players, but he abuses his place on the team by not practicing and being best-buds with Danny because there's nothing the organization can do to affect his daily approach to the game.
I honestly like what the Bears did with Cutler's contract. He got an extension, but for only two additional years. They didn't try to spread out an unreasonable wad of cash over a long term deal. If Cutler works out, great...extend him again. If not, then F it. He'll be gone by 2013. It's the right way to pay your diva players.
I don't think guaranteed money itself is the problem - it is how they dole it out and who they dole it out to that is the problem. They let guys like Ryan Clark and Antonio Pierce walk and sign outsiders like Arch Deluxe, Fat Albert, and DeAngelo Hall to huge contracts that no one else would pay. They don't have any core leadership of guys who came up with the team and know what it is to be a Deadskin.
Danny Boy will drop Portis and start to give him the stank eye just like he did with Arrington when the time comes. Portis isn't really a team guy and he has lost a step - but again, the organization is so F'ed up that he can act like an arse and get away with it.
I too agree that we have enough talent on the team to be better than we are.
It's just that Snyderatto are too busy holding each other's dongs and trying to insert them both up JZ's butt all while trying to get Sherm Lewis to call out twister with all of them to see which position they can get into next. Oh, and by the way, they are trying to run a football team too.
When you say, better than they are, I assume you are still accepting the fact that this is a 6-10, 7-9, maybe 8-8 type football team.

Right now, I would agree. Rebuild the line, I think this can be a 10, 11 win team. The defense is plenty good. We have decent skill position players but the O line sucks and the coaching/playcalling needs to be stepped up with no interference from Snyderatto.
10-11 wins? With just offensive linemen?
JC isn't going to be the QB. Who is going to run the ball next year? Who are the receivers again?
There is no depth anywhere.
Until they stop thinking they are just a couple of players away and rebuild a good franchise this will continue to be a 6-10 to 8-8 team.
I predicted 9-7 at the start of the year. Nothing great, but respectable.
BTW...I don't have a problem with Haynesworth. When he's on the field, he plays with a lot more intensity than anyone else on the field. He has made the defense better. If you haven't noticed, Carter has already exceeded his sack total from last year. Orakpo is on pace for a very respectable 9+ sack total in his rookie year. He's helping the players around him and that's why he was brought here. We can criticize the front office for giving him as much money as he got, but even though he's in for only 60-70% of the plays he has improved the play of the d-line.

We'll see how Haynesworth performs against the better teams - it is not tough to look good when you are playing KC, Detroit, St. Louis, and Tampa.
In any event, I don't see any way that he lives up to his ridiculously huge contract.
I was assuming we had all the current players plus a solid O line.
JC is solid. Portis is still solid. Cooley is one of the best. Moss is solid. I still believe Kelly, Thomas, Davis all have something they can contribute plus maybe try Marko.
Again, if the O line was solid and the play calling was sound minus any Snyderatto interaction, this could be a good team. The defense is sound.
They might go 9-7 with some breaks if they had an average O-line, but this team is nowhere near a contender.
We'll see how sound the D is when they aren't playing the dregs of the NFL.
JKS Dad: I love you man, but you are f-ing crazy if you would be happy with moving forward with a majority of the current personnel. They (Snyder, Cerrato, and Zorn) felt really good about how things were coming together this preseason. Therefore, they were happy with their players. The team has ineffective leadership on the offensive side of the ball. As you can see this year, the good quarterbacks of the league are scoring more and accumulating more yards than ever. JC has lost any edge that he may have had. The receivers are too stupid to run this complicated offense. Case in point: Brett Farve is lighting up the league throwing to a rookie.
Devin Thomas will be starting because to quote JZ, "I'm not getting enough [spuge] out of Malcolm." Sounds to me that Sherman Lewis said, "Wait a minute, this guy has 4.3 speed...we can throw him a five yard slant and he can be gone for 6 with that speed."
I say, blow up this offense in the off-season. There will be no salary cap next year so Snyder should be able to get some serviceable talent.
Perhaps the trade deadline should be later in the NFL (i.e., hockey) where teams that know that they are out of it can trade an aging vet to a contender to potentially help a playoff run. The Skins are out of it, but they just don't realize it yet.
Outside of the Lion game, the D has been solid all year. We have faced who is on our schedule. We can't control that but those are still NFL teams that have faired well against other opponents and our defense has by and large shut down those teams and that includes having to deal with an offense that consistently goes 3 and out forcing our defense to play the bulk of the game.
Our offense has to help the defense out.
Scott: I luv U2 but if we had a solid O line that could give consistent protection for JC and and he didn't have to worry about getting sacked every down and a solid offensive game scheme and play calling, I am confident we could be at least a 10 win team.

If all they need is 3 new O linemen then Vinny is a good GM.
If we had a good O line AND good game planning/play calling, I am confident we would be 5-1 right now. I would feel pretty good that we could win at least half of the remaining 10 games. That, my friend, would give us 10 wins.
We have had issues with both those aspects to our game so far and our offense is ranked near the bottom and we have barely lost these bad games. Our defense is good and with even a halfway decent offense, we would be 5-1 right now.
Then you should hope that Vinny stays in place. If you are that close to being a good team, then just get the couple of players you need and hire a new coach.

JKSd: Jason Campbell is much like Patrick Ramsey. He has been hit too hard, too frequently and is now way too jumpy. I'll keep this simple for you:
He needs to throw the ball on time at the end of his three step drop. I don't think that he sees enough of the field as he steps away from center and the game moves too fast for him.
Hopefully, we have another, my qualified qb next year.
JC has a high completion percentage and an 85 QB rating - those are great numbers given the offensive line he has had to play with.
I am sure JC will move on to better places and will perform well next year for his new team.
JC completes dump offs. If you carve out dump offs from his stats, they will be much worse. His leadership skills are what I'm most concerned with.
I think JC needs to step it up but he is not the problem.
