Redskins - Eagle preview

I have NO idea what to expect tonight. Actually, that's what makes tonight's game so exciting.

The Skins have been on a huge roller coaster ride the last couple of weeks and there is so much up in the air and now we have to play on Monday night in front of the nation...IT'S GONNA BE AWESOME!!!!

The Eagles are coming off of an embarrassing loss to the Raiders last week where their O line couldn't provide any protection for McNabb. No doubt they will want to get back on track.

It's a divisional game and with the Giants losing last night there is even more incentive to pick up ground in the division.

If I had to provide some thoughts, here they are:

1. JC is going to get sacked at least 5 times. The Eagles love to blitz and I really hate Heyer at LT and Williams at RT. I am fine with the interior line but Williams is too slow and it's hard for Heyer to go from RT to LT.

2. I think the Skin playcalling will be more aggressive. Snyderatto want to put on more of a show and give fans something to cheer about. They orchestrated the change in playcalling duties and I'm sure they told Sherm to be aggressive.

3. Our defense will again be solid. We always seem to play pretty well against the Eagles. I think we will get a few sacks and force at least 1 turnover.

In the end, our offense will continue to struggle with all the changes (O line changes, playcalling changes). I think JC will have happy feet again and make mistakes. The fans will boo JC and the offense. Skins lose 27-10.

Man...I don't want to see us get drubbed. No matter how pathetic my team has become, it's still my team and I want to see us win. I am holding on to a small sliver of hope, no bigger than Robs' 1/4" nub, that we can make a game out of this.

Our D matches up with Philly's O really well, which explains why we swept them last year. I don't think Philly will run away with this game. Obviously, I am concerned about our terrible O-line, but if the Shermanator can call a game that flows well, where one play sets up the next, I think we can make things interesting. I place a lot of the blame for our O stinking up the joint on Zorn's playcalling. When you keep calling sweeps to the left, but you don't call anything to counter it, such as playaction or a bootleg, you become predictable. That's what has been wrong with the playcalling so far. Any improvement in that department can only help...Now all we need is a miracle and have the O-linemen play out of their minds and we'll be fine.

Whatever. Skins lose 20-6.

I am mostly worried about the O line. I suppose it will be interesting to see how all the turmoil over the last couple of weeks affects the team. Either there will be mass confusion or there will be guys just playing loose with a "we've got nothing to lose" attitude and things go surprisingly well.

I too am hopeful but again, even if the guys are playing loose, I just feel the issues with this makeshift line trying to matchup against a very aggressive Philly defense will be the downfall.

Still, as a fan, it's kind of fun going into this game really not knowing what to expect.
