What has happened to the Bears (especially the defense)?!

The Bears lose to the 1-3 Vikings at home. Horrible divisional loss. What's worse is that they gave up nearly 450 yards of offense to the VIKINGS!! The Bears D looks like a shadow of itself. They have a number of problems but it's still a long way to go and we'll see if they can pull it together.

Question for RobsObs, now that the Bears are losing, is the organization gouging their fans?

We've had the ticket price discussion ad nauseum. The Bears are coming off back to back divisional titles, they had the second best record in the NFL last year (best in the NFC), and they got to the Super Bowl.

They have won consistently. How about the Redskins? I don't think so.

They are now 2-4 and worst in their division. Things change year to year. They are losing! I don't care what they did in the past. According to your beliefs, since they are losing, they must be gouging. Is that right or is it now that if you lose for a few years in a row, then you are gouging?

Show me where I said that ticket prices should be tied to a 6 game stretch. I have been clear that the Redskins are a bad organization and have been since Danny Boy took over. They cannot consistently win because they don't have a GM. You agree with me on that point, so I have no idea what you are talking about.

Don't tell me what my beliefs if you don't know.

It's not like the Bears have been perennial winners year in/year out. They had a very good year last year and exceeded expectations 2 years ago. Prior to that, they pretty much sucked for 15 years so were they gouging then?

What were their ticket prices compared to the other teams 3 years ago? Did they jack up prices three years ago?

What the Hell are you talking about?

I don't know what their prices were. However, it seems like they have been right around the top for years. I'll see if I can find out. Maybe you can do the same.

No, I'll leave it to you since you are bringing it up.

I've been consistent in saying the Redskins have been mediocre for a long time. Before last year, they jacked up ticket prices by (I believe) the highest percentage of any NFL team. That is what we discussed last year.

The Bears ticket prices are on avg. $1.40 cheaper than the 'Skins. Not a big margin. The Bears have consistently been jacking up prices since 2000. They went 4 years with keeping them at the same price. They have consistently been near the top of the NFL in terms of their prices. Yet, somehow in your eyes, they are above all that and don't gouge their fans unlike the rest of the league. Whatever, RobsObs.

I have not said anything about gouging by "the rest of the league." I have only been talking about the Redskins.

Since the Bears tickets are still cheaper than the Redskins, I think they are a pretty good bargain. Especially given that there are about 20,000 to 30,000 fewer seats.

Why pick on the 'Skins? Why hold the 'Skins in different light than the rest of the league? If other teams have comparable ticket prices but don't perform, why are they exempt from gouging?

What team should we discuss? I was talking about the 'Skins last year because THEY WERE THE ONES WHO JACKED UP PRICES AFTER A DECADE OF MEDIOCRITY. I was not talking about the NFL as a whole.

I am sure we can find other examples, but it is not the entire NFL. Don't broadbrush and change the subject.

If you want to discuss NFL ticket prices then post something up with the numbers and let's discuss it. But that is not what we were talking about last year.

The mere fact that you reported that Bears ticket prices are lower than Redskins ticket prices, even though the Redskins have significantly more seats, tells me all I need to know about who is gouging.
