JC - Week 8

Updated numbers:

Ranking: 24 (up 1 slot)

QB Rating: 77.2 (minus 1.3)

Completion Percentage: 59.3% (minus .2%)

Yards: 1378 (plus 197)

TDs: 6 (plus 1)

INTs: 6 (plus 1)

Yards per attempt: 6.76 (minus .27)

Sacks: 12 (plus 3)

Overall, probably JC's worst game as a pro. As mentioned several times, the fumbles were inexcusable. Outside of the fumbles, don't really have much of a problem with his play. JC couldn't have won this game even if he played the game of his life. It was a total team beat down. The team needs to pick itself up and they need to allow JC to open up the field a little bit and take some shots downfield. I am not saying they should abandon the run and forget "Redskin football" but take some shots. It's a must win this week against NY Jets. A loss would almost put an end to the season.

Honestly, I'm surprised that JC has been able to put up the numbers that he is. 1st year starters generally struggle due to their own inexperience, but the offense is crumbling around JC and his numbers are still only taking minimal hits.

Before RobsObs goes all goofy on what I just said, let me make it clear. JC is struggling. He's not lighting the world on fire. He is not doing much to significantly raise the level of play of his teammates. What he is doing is playing within the system and aside from some very bad technique that resulted in 3 bad fumbles last week, he is minimizing costly mistakes.

His play needs to improve, but to expect much more from him without this teammates stepping up is ridiculous. Considering everything, a nearly 80 QB rating, 60% completions, and only 6 INTs is pretty impressive.
