If you look at the differences between this year's Bear defense after 6 games compared with last year's defense after 6 games, it's pretty obvious why they are 2-4:
•They have given up an average of 24.8 points, compared with 9.8 points a game after six games in 2006.
•Opponents are averaging 134.2 rushing yards, compared with 72.5 a year ago.
•The Bears have allowed 227.2 passing yards per game, compared with an average of 155.3 yards six games into last season.
I know RobsObs will say that they suffered a number of injuries but he also was raving that they had TREMENDOUS depth. I don't see it. Seeing how RobsObs is a numbers guy, the numbers don't show it either. Nice to see Lovie get rid of Rivera and bring in his boy Babich.
Conversely, RobsObs was very critical of the 'Skins O line (the starters) and said that they had no depth. The 'Skins have lost 2 starters (Jansen and Thomas) and have had injuries to 3 additional linemen (Rabach, Wade, and Heyer) but we they are still performing at a solid level. The numbers will support that as well.
I know RobsObs will come up with some defense as he refuses to admit he is/was wrong. He also blindly loves his team. I can't wait to hear/read his defense.
