So I have mentioned how I will wake up in the middle of the night and turn on the tv and get caught up watching stuff. Last night there was a potpourri of entertainment on that I was able to watch.
First, I was able to catch the end of Predator 2. Somehow I always thought Danny Glover didn't really fit the action hero type. Watching again only confirmed those thoughts. He moves so slowly and always looks like he is hobbling around with bad knees. Are we really to believe he could take down the Predator? I think not. I think I actually saw that movie in the theater. Waste.
I couldn't end on that note so I flipped around and was able to alternate between Jeff Goldblum in The Fly and Youngblood. I have to say The Fly is a great film. Story is good and acting is solid. I like the music that accompanies the film. I could do without some of David Cronenberg's gore and stuff but I suppose it is kind of necessary given that the dude was a human and becoming a fly. Since Brundle and the fly were fused together at the genetic level, I always found it interesting that Brundle came out a human and turned into a fly. Can you imagine if he came out a fly and turned into a human? Wonder what the fly thought. Again, a great movie especially given that it was made nearly 25 years ago (can you believe that?!). Would be interesting to see what that film would look if it was made today with all of the effects movie makers have available now.
Youngblood is a Rob Lowe hockey film. I remember enjoying it more when it came out. Kind of stupid now. Rob Lowe stars as Dean Youngblood who is a hot shot hockey player but really soft. Through the help of his teammate (Patrick Swayze), coach, brother, and father he toughens up and becomes a complete player. It's interesting how movies made in the 80s look like tv movies now. The production quality was not nearly as great as they are today. I suppose it is a fun movie but again didn't get nearly as much out of it as I did when I saw it 20+ years ago.

Seems like you should watch, "St. Elmo's Fire" and re-live the magic of Rob Lowe and Demi Moore. Then you can follow that up with "Independence Day" for some more Goodblum. Then go straight into "Bad Boys" with the Will Smith connection. Of course, all roads then lead back to Martin Lawrence in "Black Knight", which as I've said previously, is a very funny movie.
I don't pick the movies. I just watch what's on.
A couple of nights ago I watched Miracle on Ice. The story of the 1980 Olympic hockey team starring the incomparable Karl Malden as Coach Herb Brooks and Steve Guttenberg as Jim Craig and Andrew Stevens as Eruzione. It had a bunch of other actors playing the team. They used real footage for the hockey scenes. I watched that as a kid and really liked the movie and the inspirational music that went along with it. When I watched it a couple of nights ago, it sucked. Again, low production.
The night before I watched Miracle with the incomparable Kurt Russell as Coach Herb Brooks. Higher production but they got actual hockey players to play the U.S. Team. Thus, the acting kind of sucked. Still, it was a solid movie.
Not really sure if this particular road circles back to Martin Lawrence in "Black Knight" but again, I question your movie judging abilities as you love Black Knight and do not like Dark Knight. I will say that Martin's self titled show "Martin" was pretty funny.
I'm sure I've seen Martin Lawrence on ice skates in some movie that he was in. I can't remember which though as he was in so many.
Stay tuned for Bad Boys 3!
Watch out for Raki and I hope you aren't as clumsy as that sorry SOB who tripped over the blue line.
Just go to sleep early my friend - you'll feel better in the mornings.
Hopefully I won't get a house call from Dr. Sutton and the gang.
I will try and go to bed early and maybe it will be my turn with Miss McGill.
