Groh is gone

UVA is terrible. They were embarrassed by Miami on Saturday and it all but sealed Groh's fate. Last week, UVA's AD said that Groh would be evaluated at the end of the season and that pretty much is the PC way of saying that he will be fired. Groh did nothing to help his cause with the beating they took against the Canes.

UVA has lost 10 of 13 starting with an overtime defeat to Miami last season. The Cavaliers were outgained 515-149 on Saturday and looked completely overmatched.

If you are a UVA fan, it's probably exciting that change will be coming and hopefully they make a good pick to be their next coach. Still, whoever it is, can't be much worse than Groh.

But Sewell was out and our defense is really young and Mikell Simpson was dinged up and it was a little chilly at kickoff.

Good. Like with the 'Skins, a punch in the face may be what's needed to convince the powers that be that drastic change is needed.

UVA was just outplayed. It looked like a college team against a JV high school team. Miami just manhandled UVA.

Maybe if it wasn't as chilly UVA would have played better.

I'll say this. Groh is probably gone. If we finish strong and beat Tech he still could save his job. We'll see.

In this particular game it was 24-17 at the half. The problem was we got no QB play whatsoever.

Groh has no chance of staying. Losing 10 of his last 13 and some of the losses this year is just enough. Attendance is down significantly. Virginia is averaging 46,605 fans for its five home games, down more than 7,000 over what last year's 5-7 team drew.

UVA deserves better and hopefully they make a good choice. The guy from Richmond would be interesting.

It will be interesting to see how things change for them.

He should be evaluated after the season but clearly things are not looking good for him.
