Carlos Rogers vs. Fred Smoot

So Rogers fell for the double move badly AGAIN. As long as he is in there, you can bet that teams will work him with the double move time and again. He deserved to be pulled and Smoot came in and did a good job as his replacement.

The interesting thing now is who starts against Dallas?

Stone Hands was interviewed after the game...heard it on Snyder 980 today. He doesn't want to own up from his mistakes. He says he's an agressive CB and it's not in him to sit back on a double move, so "it happens."

The guy seems miffed at being benched. He said they won with him on the bench so maybe it's best if he stays on the bench. Nice. Way to compete, Stone Hands.

The only problem with this now is, we're going to be in the market for a CB again in the offseason...if Barnes and/or Tryon can't step up. We have so many pressing needs and this shouldn't have been one of them.

We have Smoot as well. I don't think corner will be a major issue going into the offseason. Sure, I would love to have two shutdown corners but I would be comfortable with D. Hall and Smoot. Barnes was a good college corner so hopefully he can develop and compete for that spot.

I saw the Rogers interview and clearly he is bitter over being pulled. He said he wasn't and said that he didn't understand why he was benched last year but understood why he was benched in the Bronco game. He also said that maybe the team was better without him. The follow up question was if he was being sarcastic and he said that he wasn't but clearly there were some sour grapes and got the feeling that he didn't think he was going to be here next year. I don't have too big of a problem with that.

Again, his persistent propensity to fall for the double move and then have the attitude like there is nothing he can do about that is ridiculous. Again, I could live with the brick hands if he was at least able to stay with WRs but he can't. I don't have a big problem with him moving on.
