Redskins Preseason Game #4 (Pregame)

The Redskins have suffered several injuries already in the preseason (thankfully none too serious). Namely, Jason Campbell, Marcus Washington, Chris Samuels, and Clinton Portis.

The final preseason game typically is meant for all the backups and to find out who is going to make it to the final 53 man roster. Campbell did not play in preseason game #3 due to injury and says he wants to play in the final game. I am a little apprehensive as I don't want the knee injury to be aggravated. It is of concern because the left side of the line is still far from solidified (Samuels won't be playing and who knows who will be playing at LG). On the flip side, it would be good if he could get some reps in to better prepare him for the regular season. Hopefully, he can play a series or two and get out of there with no further injury.

Also, I know CP doesn't want to play and wants to wait until the regular season but it would be good to also see him for a series or two just so that he can get a little action before the season. It is not critical because at this point a series or two is not going to make any difference for his conditioning but it would still be good to see him get out there.

Anyway, we'll see what happens tonight but again the game is primarily for the backups and to see who will make the final roster.

I expect a series or two, but I don't expect too much. If they can get 3 first downs that would be an accomplishment.

I think Kendall is starting, but they should go with some run plays and quick passes so he doesn't have to do too much thinking.

Agrizzle.

Hopefully no more injuries.

Agrizzle? When the shizzle did my nizzle become Snoop Dogg?

If Campbell can get in a drive or two and Portis can get a few 5 yard runs in, I'll be happy.

After that all it is about is the HB Blades and Dallas Sartz show...In other words...who cares.

I like seeing H.B. running around the field. He looks like a little kid playing among the big boys. It is rather humorous because he is so small.

In all the player profiles I pulled up he is listed at 5' 11" and 240 lbs. Even if that is embellished a little, it hardly warrants your comment. I am also surprised as sensitive as you are to comments like that about Rexy you freely throw them out yourself. Whatever. I am used to your hypocrisy.

Anyhoo, no matter what his size, Blades has been pretty impressive when he has gotten out there.

If he can play he can play. I don't see anything disparaging about what I said.

No offense, but I think it is funny that the little man moves around on the field so well.

Touchy, touchy! Jeez, talk about sensitive.

He was a tackling machine in college, meaning he moves around the field really well, meaning the 'Skins scouts picked a talented player in the 6th round that was overlooked by all other teams due to a perceived short-coming....meaning the 'Skins scouting knows what it is doing, meaning RobsObs is WRONG!

I am not sensitive. I don't really mind your comment. I just find your hypocrisy comical. You are SO sensitive when it comes to Rexy but you have no problem doing the same thing to a Redskin player.

What did I say that is hypocritical? I am not questioning his play on the field. Unlike Rex critics who call Rex erratic and "shaky" after he posts a 112.7 rating performance.

I am not even making fun of Blades. The fact is, he looks tiny on the field. He literally looks like a boy among men.

Deepie, as far as him being a major contributor - I doubt it. He may be a special teamer for a couple of years but he is not the next Neil Olkewicz. If he can turn into this generation's Pete Cronan that would be great - but even that seems like a stretch to me.

WRONG!

He's the exact same size as London Fletcher-Baker. In two years Baker will be done and Blades will take over.

What the Hell are you talking about?

Fletcher-Baker is 5-10, 258 lbs.

Blades is 5-10, 237 lbs.

Blades is looks tiny because he is. Yet, he is trying to play middle linebacker in the NFL.

We'll see if he is a player or not. But when you have a 300 lb guard who runs as fast as Blades and is pulling and hitting him like a freight train, we'll see how he holds up.

Or how about a FB like Mike Sellers who goes 6-3, 260?

Blades may have heart, but we'll see if he has the physical tools to succeed.
