Skins pick up DE Stephen Bowen

Guy is in his prime and understands the 3-4. He was supposed to be the starter in Dallas but we pried him over. Another needed piece for our revamped defense.

Again, I like not overspending and locking guys who are in their prime into multi-year deals.

Need to grab some O linemen.

This guy is over priced. $27.5 million over five years, $12.5 million guaranteed. But def better than A.Hay. and def good that they are going after the typical proven crap. Hopefully they dont go after cullen jenkins.

It's clear that the Skins are going after guys in their prime who have shown signs of being worthy of the contracts they are offering. Maybe Bowen got more than we'd like to give him, but I think Shanallenhan is smart enough to limit their offers to market value instead of making fantastic mistakes like Snyderatto was consistently doing.

Good pick-up. This guy was going to start for the Cowgirls in their 3-4 front. He will fit in well.

Probably spent a little more than needed but still to get a guy familiar with the 3-4 and in his prime and who is a projected starter, it's a reasonable contract. It's not like giving monster, record breaking deals to big name guys that struggle to perform.

The Bowen signing may kill the Cullen Jenkins interest.

Who? How much? WTF!

The guy only started 9 games last year for the second worst D in the NFL. I'm sure he got in because of injuries - not talent.

Before last year he started 2 games in 2009 and none in the three prior years.

Oh he is in his prime right now - riiiiiight.

Looks like a huge bust waiting to happen.

Time will tell. I would say that he is certainly better than what we had.

That's not saying much. His career stats certainly makes me wonder what they are thinking.

Lets remember that DEs in the 3-4 are really DLs and meant to take up space for guys like Ware, Orakpo, Clay Matthews, etc. They are not going to put up monster numbers.
