Vikings waive Moss

Randy Moss was waived by the Vikings on Monday just weeks after Minnesota traded a third-round draft pick to the New England Patriots for the receiver. Didn't take long for Moss to wear out his welcome in the twin cities.

Looks like the Queens got a good ROI on that one. This one more season at a hope for glory has turned out into a nightmare for Favre. I'm sure he is wishing he never came back.

If the Queens don't start improving, Childress will be fired and you can expect pretty significant changes over there.

Agreed.

What a mess!

Still only two and half games out of first. With two shots at the Bears and one on the Packers. Thats the only hope I have.

I wonder if the Pats will take him back now...That would be ridunculous.

Maybe the Skins can take a chance on him??? We have a bye. He'd have two weeks to get up to speed with McNabb.

The Patriots would only have a chance to claim Moss if the NFL's other 31 teams pass. If Moss isn't claimed he will be free to sign with any team. Any team claiming Moss on waivers would owe him nine game checks (out of 16) of his $6.4 million base salary.

The thing is this guy is a disease. He questioned his coach. He praised his former team and then gives these strange answers like he will only conduct interviews where he is the one asking the questions AND answering those questions. The problem is his talent is waning to a point where it is not worth risking locker room strife and division for this guy. The Pats were able to deal with him because they had a strong core leadership that has been in place for a number of years and they will not allow for Moss to disrupt that. Most teams do not have that type of infrastructure so Moss will become disruptive.

That said, I wouldn't mind seeing Moss on the Skins for the last 8 games. Not saying I choose that but I would be okay if we went that route assuming that we talk to him and lay out certain conditions. Frankly, it's in Moss' best interest to be on his best behavior should he get picked up by a team because he is looking for that last big pay day and if he were to be picked up and run into problems again...well, it should be pretty obvious he wouldn't get nearly the money he thinks he deserves.

I'd take him. But he won't fall to the Bears. He'll get claimed before they can get him.

I'm sure Snyder would pay the other teams to allow him to fall to the Skins.

Well, we could have had him. Too bad. He would have instantly improved this terrible receiving corps.

No way Shanny would have dealt with his personality. Had Shanny not been fired in Denver he was about to release Brandon Marshall.

The Bears are probably in that same boat where they don't want the headache. The Titans seem like a good fit for him - Fisher is a tough, strong coach who can control players and has a history of dealing with some odd player behavior.
