CP is out for 4-6 weeks with a groin injury. It really opens the door for Ryan Torain. Interesting how quickly things can change for someone. The Skins had CP, LJ, and Willie Parker in camp but Torain always seemed to produce. However, Torain was sent to the practice squad to start the season. Now, LJ has been cut, CP is injured, and Torain finds himself in the starting role.
He has run hard since he has been given the opportunity. Sometimes a young guy is hungry and wants to make the most of his opportunity. Hopefully Torain has that attitude.
The flip side is CP who is getting up there in RB years and missed much of last year with the concussion and is now out for several weeks with the groin injury. Could we be seeing the end of the CP era?

That's why you should go retro and get a Darrell Green or Art Monk or even a Sean Taylor. They are classic, well respected, well known and you won't have to worry about getting another jersey.
Portis' blocking will be missed. RB is a young man's job. Too bad, but that's why they get the largest contracts they can. Barry Sanders didn't even play this long. Not to say that Portis is even comparable to the Sanders. Maybe he is to Colonel Sanders though....
I've always been a Portis fan. There's very little in sports that's as exciting as seeing a running back be elusive and powerful enough to take one to the house. Portis had been a dynamic, potentially game changing back. Unfortunately, the Gibbs 2.0 era battered Portis to the point that he can't stay healthy anymore. Too bad those teams weren't that great and his contributions didn't amount to much in terms of wins and overall success.
I commend Portis for sacrificing himself for the team over the last 6-7 years. I hope he can come back before the season is done, but I think this is his last season with the 'Skins. It'll be interesting to see if there is a drop off with Torain.
Portis will hang around football for a couple of more seasons, but he is past the point at which he will be a feater back.
Still he can be a great third down back and if he is healthy I'd love to have him on my team. The problem is his attitude. He doesn't seem to think that he is a 3rd down back. That is a problem because he may not mesh well with the starter because he doesn't want to be second fiddle.
He's actually had a great attitude this year. I like Portis a lot too. The guy is as equally proud of his blocking as he is of his running. He seems to be over the preferential treatment he got in previous regimes and seems like a solid teammate.
Portis has been quiet, which I suppose is good. I'm not sure how well he is liked in the locker room - my guess is he is not that popular.
I think he can play a few more years but he really shouldn't be a feature back.
