Interesting

I was talking to my oldest son yesterday and we were talking about the color of people's skin. He said that he liked the color of his skin because it was the same as most people's skin. It was interesting in that being a minority, he still felt that the color of his skin was more common. Having grown up here that very much wasn't the case when I was young so it's interesting how things have changed and how there is much more diversity in the area. It is also interesting in that that is one of the reasons why he is comfortable with the color of his skin. Just found the conversation interesting with the little guy.

You should have him listen to Tears for Fears "People are People"! It may be his new favorite song.

He's loved "Don't Stop Believin'" for a couple of years so not sure Tears for Fears would do the trick.

He also likes Smashmouth's "All Star." However, recently he has taken a liking to Taio Cruz's "Dynamite." Interesting because I had no idea what that song was and he was driving his toy corvette which has a built in FM radio and that song came on and he knew it and said he liked it. That was one of a few moments that have already taken place where I feel like that generational gap is really kicking in.

I think it is great that our kids grow up in more diverse neighborhoods and have kids like them around them.

We have so many Indian-American, other Asian, black and Hispanic kids in our neighborhood that there is no thought that they are in some type of minority.

That is very different from the way we grew up. I agree with you that I like it.
