Redskins prediction

PAIN!!!

The Texans are coming off of one of their biggest wins in franchise history with their win over the Colts. Also, Arian Foster had a monster game with 200+ yards rushing.

Meanwhile, the Skins showed a much more aggressive defense and was able to contain the Cowboys and hang on for a 13-7 victory at home.

Makes for a good matchup on Sunday afternoon.

Call me crazy, but I like the Skins in this one. I'm sure much of my pick is coming from my heart but I like them for the following reasons:

1. Our defense will have some issues with the running game but Foster won't have the same type of game he had against the Colts. Also, the defense will create at least 2 turnovers.

2. Our running game will be much better this week. CP will be around the 100 yard game this week.

3. Our passing game will pick up and McNabb will throw his first TD pass of the season.

4. Our O line will do a good job against the Texans.

5. Our coaching staff will put our players in the best position to be successful. This is one of biggest advantages is that our staff is smart, experienced, and in Sunday's case very familiar with Kubiak and the Texans and we will exploit them.

6. Special teams will be special. Devin Thomas will have more good returns and will possibly break one. Coverage teams will be outstanding.

7. Finally, the crowd was electric on Sunday and they were a difference maker and I expect the same type of atmosphere this Sunday. They will play a part in this.

In the end. I expect a 23 - 16 win for the Redskins.

HAIL SKINS!!!

27-10 Texans.

This is a game that the Texans have to win if they are to be a serious playoff team. The big win last week has to be followed up with a win against a team that is weaker.

I like the Deadskin D, but I think Houston has more offensive power than the Cowboys and I think the Deadskin O is still questionable because of the lack of WR threats.

One game into the season and Houston has a bandwagon bigger than Tony K's original bandwagon from the '91 Redskins Super Bowl run. Sheesh.

Here's why the 'Skins will win:

1. There's NO WAY Foster has another monster game like he did against the weak Colts' run-D. He'll average 4-5 yards a carry as the 'Skins run-D is a little soft, but our LBs and DBs are way too fast to give up big runs. Foster may be good, but he's no more dynamic than Barber and Jones are.

2. Romo had to throw 47 passes to get 280 yards...I.e., our secondary is very good. Andre Johnson will get hit catches, but don't expect a huge passing game from Schaub.

3. Houston gave up over 400 yards passing to the Colts. Granted, Manning is one of the best QBs ever, but it speaks to a soft secondary. I see Cooley and Davis exploiting the middle of the field and Moss getting some help from the 2nd receiver, whoever it is. McNabb gets at least 2 TD tosses.

4. Portis really picked it up in the 2nd half last week, averaging 5 yards a carry. I expect a big game from him.

5. Shanny's staff will get the team ready. Everyone is talking about how the Texans need to prove something...Well, the 'Skins are also out to prove that they aren't the 4-12 team from last year. The players have bought into Shanny's message and they'll be ready.

6. As JKSD said, the crowd will be a factor. I can assure you though that the crowd will not be as hyped as it was for Dallass, but when 90000 people start screaming, it doesn't matter. It gets really loud in there and it will have an impact. I'm looking forward to being there this Sunday.

This is going to be a tough game. Don't get me wrong. I do think, however, that we'll pull it out. 27-23 'Skins win.

Foster won't have a monster game, but Schaub will. He had a subpar game on Sunday, but that will change.
