JC - Week 9

Week 10 is almost here but wanted to get the updates in:

Ranking: 25 (minus 1)

QB Rating: 74.8 (minus 2.4)

Completion Percentage: 58.6 (minus 0.7%)

Yards: 1520 (plus 142)

TDs: 6 (no change)

INTs: 7 (plus 1)

Yards per attempt: 6.70 (minus 0.06)

Sacks: 13 (plus 1)

Slight dip in the numbers but overall we have all agreed that the coaches have had too conservative a game plan with JC. They need to allow him to open it up a little bit to both see what they have in him AND to make the offense more dynamic. JC has always shown promise and we have the tools to make him successful, the coaches just need to make it happen. We'll see what happens this week versus Philly.

Of course, it may be that in practice JC is constantly making bad decisions which is why Gibbsy is hesitant to open it up.

Of course, it may be that the receivers continue to drop the ball.

Of course, it may be that Portis just wants to carry the team as he said.

Of course, it may be that the offensive line wants to follow Portis's lead.

Of course, it may be that Gibbs just wants to stick with power running football.

Of course, it may be that the receivers are still not healthy and can't spread the field the way they want to.

Of course, defenses may be playing deep and not allowing passes downfield.

Of course, it may be...

It could be a number of things. No one has ever been complimentary (players, coaches, media) when it comes to JC. For the most part, his decision making has been good.

It does no good to speculate. However, if you are going to speculate, you might as well speculate on all of the possibilities and not just limit yourself. The point is most everyone agrees that the 'Skins should open it up a little bit. Lets see what happens.

Sure, it could be all of those things. I have no problem saying that is true. Who knows?

Whatever the reason, it is odd that they don't even give him a chance to make plays.

In coming weeks the Redskins are going to have to do better in the passing game given their competition. They are likely to be playing from behind in some games, so we'll see what JC can do.
