CP!!!!

This is the CP that I know and love. Actually, I really enjoy CP. I think the guy is a great team guy and leader. He loves to have fun but at the same time he plays hard. Along with keeping the locker room loose with these types of antics, he has accepted the role of leader and was seen hitting the blocking sleds with the linemen, participating in races with Landry, and his play speaks volumes. Along with running hard, he is a tremendous blocker. He truly is a team player and I am glad he is on the 'Skins and I look forward to him having a big year this season.

Is this guy crazy?!

So I was walking into work today and I saw this bumper sticker that said, "Cheney and Rumsfeld in 2008!" WTF?!!!

Bye, Bye, Ced!

The Bears waived Ced today ending the Benson era before it ever really got started. Apparently they got tired of his antics and cut the guy loose. I'm sure he will get picked up somewhere. At 25 years of age and a former first round pick, he will find work. Maybe a change of scenery will be good for him. As for the Bears, it leaves them with a big question mark (one of many) at RB. They drafted Forte but can he shoulder the load as a rookie. Will Adrian Peterson (the other Adrian Peterson) be the man? Garret Wolfe? Maybe they will sign one of the FAs out there (Lamont Jordan, Kevin Jones, Shaun Alexander). We'll see what happens.

Cedric the Entertainer!

More trouble for Cedric Benson. Benson was arrested Saturday on a drunken driving charge in Austin, Texas, his second arrest in little more than a month. It was 2 am and he failed a field sobriety test. Not surprisingly, Benson told his lawyer that he thought he ran a yellow light and that he didn't think he was driving recklessly or speeding. He also told his lawyer that he had two or three drinks with dinner and that he didn't think he was intoxicated.

Again, this all sounds kind of funny to me. First, you can't remember if you had two or three drinks. It's one thing if you have seven or eight drinks and can't remember the number but two or three drinks? Also, what time did they have dinner? Even if you had dinner around 10 pm, it seems like the effects of two or three drinks with food would wear off and not result in a DWI (worse than a DUI). Also, he failed the field sobriety test. Lastly, knowing the problems you have had with the Bears and the case he is currently involved in, wouldn't he know better? That guy is an idiot.

How 'bout dem Cubbies?

The Cubbies have the best record in baseball. It is the first time they have had the best record this late in the season since 1908 which is the last time they won the World Series. They have won 9 in a row and more importantly they are finding ways to win. It is a different guy that makes the play every day and they are playing with tons of confidence. A few games ago, they were down 9-1 in the 6th inning to the Rockies but they came back to win the game. It's stuff like that that creates a winner. Expectations were high going into the season and they are meeting them to this point. Hopefully they can keep it up but right now I am enjoying watching them play.

Erasmus James!

Been a while since I have posted anything and I know it is older news but I like the pick up of Erasmus James. We didn't give up much (a 7th round pick only if James makes the team) and we get a former first round pick. We still need help on the D line and this is a no risk situation with potentially big upside. James has suffered significant injuries over the last couple of years but he is young and has talent. I'm sure he wants to resume his career and get it back on track so we'll see what he brings.

Funny, because if you look at the blogs on the Post's site, the people that normally tear into Snyder, Cerrato, and the rest of the organization seem to actually be coming around. I have to say that I am pretty happy with the moves made during this offseason. However, those guys on the blog love to complain and bitch and moan so to get them to start changing their tune is a huge step. We'll see how it comes together but I am pretty excited about what the Skins are doing.
